The Weekly Recap #009

I am writing this from the Savannah Airport as I am about to board a flight to Miami, FL, to attend SEO at The Beach. If you really want to be in the know, then attending these SEO conferences is vital to learning what is really going on in the world. I will talk more about that next week.

Today, I want to touch on some other items. One is the effort needed to succeed in doing SEO for a living. After all these years, I can tell you that only the upper 5% of all SEO professional know what they are talking about.

All the gurus are talking about an update to the acroterium coming in March. How do they know? I mean, really? This means you need to pay attention to who you listen to for SEO advice.

With almost 100 monthly SEO clients, I even feel at a loss sometimes. A tactic or service will work and give amazing results, but then, one day, it just stops working. This is when you need to pivot, test, and evaluate what you do for clients or on your own site.

What I Am Watching: This week, I picked up Casey Keith’s Treasure Map SEO Course. If you don’t know Casey, you must not hang out in the Zimmwriter FB group. So far, it’s pretty good. I am always looking for that extra nugget of info, that little tidbit that will make me better or learn a new trick.

What I am reading: Since I will be on a plane, there is no better chance of starting a new book. I finally picked up Ryan Holiday’s The Daily Stoic. The book offers a unique blend of wisdom, practical insights, and timeless philosophy, making it a must-read for individuals seeking guidance and perspective in their daily lives.

By drawing from Stoicism, an ancient philosophy known for teaching self-awareness, resilience, and virtue, Holiday provides readers with daily meditations that are not only thought-provoking but also immensely applicable to modern life challenges.

Whether you’re looking to improve your decision-making, cultivate inner peace, or simply gain a deeper understanding of Stoic principles, “The Daily Stoic” serves as an accessible and engaging companion.

Its daily format encourages consistent reflection and growth, making the profound teachings of Stoicism accessible to everyone, regardless of their familiarity with philosophy.

In a world filled with distractions and rapid changes, this book offers a grounding and insightful perspective, making it a valuable resource for anyone looking to live a more meaningful and centered life.

Plus, my favorite movie ever is Gladiator, which starts off with the death of Marcus Aurelius, from which the daily meditations are pulled.

What I Learned: My biggest recent takeaway in the world of SEO is the theory of ranking multiple properties for the same search phrase. I know I didn’t invent this, but I have been testing it more and more. The key here is keeping the properties separate.

This is not parasite SEO, I am talking about actually putting in the effort for a second, third, and even fourth website property. All built out with legit content an all.

I will discuss this in more detail in future newsletters, but for now, let’s just mention Google SEO Company Charleston, SC.

Final Thought: Yes, it’s good to put your thoughts down and yes, its even better to do it so others can benefit, but a weekly newsletter, even short like this is still a challlange.
